; words Rev. Edward Perronet, 1779; music James Ellor, 1838]
All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name is a carol from the South Yorkshire village carols tradition. Waterson:Carthy sang it to the tune Diadem, written by James Ellor in 1838, on their 2006 album Holy Heathens and the Old Green Man. Martin Carthy commented in the album's sleeve notes:
… On the other hand you get the triumphal Diadem which Norma and I heard sung by South Yorkshire carollers a few years ago, and they still can be heard these days between Armistice Day and Christmas.
Jon Boden, Jess and Richard Arrowsmith, Gavin Davenport, Fay Hield and Sam Sweeney sang Diadem at the Royal Hotel in Dungworth as the 13 December 2010 entry of Jon's project A Folk Song a Day.
Kate Rusby sang Diadem on her 2011 Christmas album, While Mortals Sleep.
The Melrose Quartet sang Diadem on their 2019 Christmas album, The Rudolph Variations.

---|---|
All hail the pow'r of Jesus' name! |
All hail the power of Jesus' name! |
Ye chosen seed of Israel's race, |
Ye saints redeemed of Adam's race, |
Sinners, whose love can ne'er forget |
Sinners, whose love can ne'er forget |
O that with yonder sacred throng |
O that with yonder sacred throng |
And crown Him, Lord of all, |
And crown Him, Lord of all, |
